The Author

Brooks Keene is a development policy consultant currently living in western Kenya.  He has researched water and sanitation policy in Kenyan primary schools, climate change adaptation in Niger and the U.S. military’s development work in Sub-Saharah Africa, among other things. Brooks previously worked for CARE and CNN International.  Brooks grew up in northeast Florida and southeast Georgia where his family owns a small farm.
